Sigong Village is one of the villages located in the eastern region of Cirebon. It has an area of 2.01 KM, which is one section of Lemahabang Sub-district. Sigong Village uses the Sundanese language, which certainly has social and economic conditions that are still very dependent on the agricultural sector and local natural resources. Therefore, it is essential to observe the social and economic dynamics of the village community. Identify the problems faced and the potential that can be developed for the welfare of the community.
The development of Sigong Village cannot be separated from the role of the great spiritual figure in the history of Cirebon, Sunan Gunung Jati. During the spread of Islam in Java, the village began to grow spiritually and socially. The influence of the Islamic teachings brought by Sunan Gunung Jati not only instilled religious values but also formed a harmonious social system, rooted in cooperation and brotherhood.
From a humble little settlement, Sigong slowly grew into a vibrant community, full of spirit and rich in stories passed down through generations. The fertile nature is the primary source of livelihood, while ancestral values maintain a balance between humans and their environment.
