Sarah Nur Fitriyah – Sutawinangun Village, located in Kedawung District, Cirebon Regency, is not yet known as a major tourist destination. This is because the village itself does not possess abundant and unique natural resources. However, this village has many modern establishments, such as Japanese, Western, and local restaurants (E.g. Empal). Additionally, several well-known cafes can be found here, such as Ulon and Calf.
These dining establishments are located on Tuparev Road, which connects Cirebon city and regency, specifically in the Kedawung District, covering several villages including Pekiringan, Sutawinangun, and Kertawinangun. This road serves as the main gateway to Cirebon Regency due to its numerous modern establishments and minimarkets that provide visitors with their first impression.
On Tuparev Road, which is part of Sutawinangun Village, there are several popular dining spots. These places include both local and foreign establishments, as well as youth-oriented cafes suitable for hanging out and working on assignments.
Local Dining Establishments: Empal
As is well known, one of Cirebon’s signature dishes is empal, and one of the most popular and talked-about empal establishments is Empal Gentong Haji Apud. Currently, this restaurant has three branches, one of which is located on Tuparev Road in Sutawinangun Village. The purpose of opening a branch in this village was to allow city dwellers to enjoy the delicious food as well. This is due to the more accessible location and the ability to avoid traffic congestion at the main store.

This establishment has been operating since 1994 and became popular in 2010. The place is famous for its cooking method uses wood fire in clay pots (gentong). Additionally, it serves dishes with distinctive spice blends and special sambal. Besides empal, this place also offers goat and beef satay that are equally delicious.
Foreign Restaurants and Cafes
This village also features trendy cafes and dining spots, such as Ulon. This coffee shop offers various menu items with rich, savory, and creamy flavors. The place just opened in January 2025. Its location is not far from the border between the city and Sutawinangun Village, making it crowded with visitors.

This establishment has two floors, indoor and outdoor areas. The first floor features an aesthetic bar area perfect for hanging out or simply working on assignments. The second floor serves Japanese cuisine, specifically ramen. This second floor has Japanese vibes that enhance the enjoyment of the ramen. Additionally, there is a dedicated billiard area in the back that provides fun activities for Generation Z.
