People use a lot of land around their houses as gardens to grow natural products. They mostly plant banana trees, which thrive in Bode Lor village’s humid and nutrient-rich environment. Since banana trees grow well in this area, many villagers focus on banana production. They harvest and process bananas into various banana-based products, making banana farming a key part of the village’s economy.
2. Economics Potential of Bode Lor Village

- Micro-entrepreneurship (MSME)

- Pasar Caplek (Traditional Market)
Pasar Caplek is the name of the traditional market in Bode Lor village. This market has a vital role in the community’s economy. However, in 2022, this market underwent a significant renovation. Through the renovation phase, the market has become cleaner, safer, and more comfortable when shopping.
3. Social & Culture Potential of Bode Lor Village
- Sunatan massal & Arak-arakan
The community organizes the sunatan massal (mass circumcision) event every year to provide a free health platform for anyone who wants to be circumcised. This event coincides with the Arak-arakan, a competition where participants create large figurines or statues based on a predetermined theme. After completing the circumcision, organizers placed the children on mounts made of figurines for the procession. They then take the newly circumcised children around the village along a chosen route, making the event both a cultural and celebratory tradition.
- Volleyball Match
This is a volleyball match against teams from each neighborhood in Bode Lor village. Each neighborhood usually forms the best team and plays against other teams. Even other villages can participate.
CHALLANGES
1. The number of roads that have not been repaired
Damaged roads pose a significant challenge to developing the village’s potential. When roads deteriorate, they disrupt the mobility of visitors and residents, sometimes creating dangerous situations. Poor road conditions hinder transportation, slow economic activities, and make it harder for businesses to grow. If the community and authorities fail to address this fundamental issue, they will struggle to develop other aspects of the village. Improving road access will allow residents to enhance infrastructure, attract visitors, and unlock the village’s full potential.
2. Internet that has not been utilized as well as possible
Due to the many potentials that exist in Bode Lor village, it is unfortunate that both the community and the relevant government are not yet aware of the power of the internet if used as a medium for disseminating the potential and uniqueness of the village.
3. Lack of community empowerment through discussion platforms
It should also be noted that the Bode Lor village government should conduct more socialization to improve human resource empowerment. Socialization is important because the knowledge provided will be useful, and the community can build relationships through the event.
4. Caplek Market stall rental price is too high
Caplek Market is the center of the economy today, but many small businesses suffer from too high a rent for their stalls. So they are forced to open their businesses elsewhere.
SUGGESTION
1. Repair damaged roads
Access is the most important and priority aspect to consider. Good road access is helpful to facilitate the mobility of visitors and residents. It will also give the impression that Bode Lor village has developed significantly.
2. Increase socialization
Socialization of the internet wisely and empowerment of human resources are the most needed. Looking at the current condition, the officials or people of Bode Lor village have not used the internet as a suitable marketing medium. Therefore, the community should hold socialization events to support creativity and innovation, then spread the information through the media to attract people outside Bode Lor village to visit.
3. Build an area for micro-entrepreneur
Some people who own small businesses complained that after Pasar Caplek underwent renovations, the rental price of stalls also increased. This makes sellers who are small businesses out of business. So it would be better if the government provided a space for small businesses to gather in one area at a low cost or within their reach. It would become exciting if the government built the area since it could serve as an affordable culinary spot with a comfortable atmosphere.
Bode Lor has grown significantly over the past five years, becoming a busier village with better facilities and easier access to daily needs. However, it still preserves its cultural diversity and community bonds through annual events such as processions and volleyball matches. The vast agricultural land makes the village rich in crops, especially bananas, which are abundant. Bode Lor Potentials and Challenges remain, such as a lack of media exposure, making it less known, and damaged roads that hinder access for both residents and visitors. The village needs more attention to infrastructure and promotion. The hope is that the younger generation will contribute to the village’s development so that Bode Lor is not only a home for its residents but also an attractive destination for outsiders. With proper improvements, the town can continue to grow and establish itself as a thriving and competitive place.
