Museum Pusaka Keraton Kasepuhan Cirebon

The Museum Pusaka Keraton Kasepuhan is one of the oldest historical museums in Cirebon. This museum is in the Ketaron Kasepuhan area which is located on  Kasepuhan street 43, Kasepuhan, Lemahwunguk, Cirebon, West Java. This museum is busy with local and non-local visitors. This museum aims to provide information related to the history of the Kasepuhan palace to its visitors.

To enter the Museum Pusaka Keraton Kasepuhan , there is a fee of 15,000 rupiah. After entering, we can explore the museum because there are lots of relics from the Sunan Gunung Jati era. The total collection of relics from leaders from the past reaches approximately 2,000 units, including those belonging to sultans, soldiers and spoils from war.

Not only weapons, there are also other relics in the form of clothing or attire from the Sunan Gunung Jati era. Then there are also Gamelan musical instruments, argicultural tools, carving, relics of javanese script, missiles, and others. Then the Egyptian Casket was also exhibited which was brought from Egypt by Sunan Gunung Jati and his mother. The way to clean ancient collections is usually to use a brush and cloth. However, Keris are usually using coconut and orange water every Tuesday without a special ritual.

What’s interesting about this heritage museum is that in the middle, there is the Singabarong train or Sunan Gunung Jati golden train which is an icon and attracts visitors. This Singabarong train has very nice and magnificent details. The painting of Prabu Siliwangi with his tiger is also one of the icons in this museum. This painting is able to attract visitors’ attention because This painting can follow the visitor’s gaze.
