The History.

At that time, in 1670, the Dutch began to enter the sovereignty of the Keraton Kanoman led by Prince Haerudhin. Prince Muhamad Haerudhin, the crown prince of the sultan, opposed this decision. Involving the people of Cirebon who supported him, the war against the Dutch colonials lasted almost about 5 years. However, in 1696 Prince Muhamad Haerudhin was defeated and exiled to Ambon, Maluku.

The exile left the aging Prince Haerudin without a crown prince to appoint as Sultan of Kanoman. Exploiting this situation, the Dutch government unilaterally appointed the pro-colonial Prince Imamudin as the Vth Sultan of Kanoman.
