Hindu devotees offer gifts to the sea to seek safety and sustenance. Meanwhile, in Islam, believers offer alms to the sea for fish and other creatures to consume.
Local residents hold this event very lively, usually showcasing shadow puppet shows, burok, stage music, and more. Fishermen adorn their boats with a variety of food, drinks, fruits, and flags, marking the Nadran traditional ceremony. The community’s enthusiastic participation in this ceremony demonstrates a solidarity that we must preserve as an ancestral culture.
